HUB AND SPOKE LTL DISTRIBUTION MODEL 

  • It is an example of a planned work approach to move goods in transit. “Spokes” are the shipping routes through which trailers move from source to destination. The “HUB” is the destination in the model.
  • The shipment in the LTL model is taken to a HUB and then designated to an LTL trailer that is assigned to have multiple shipments of a similar location. After the truck arrives at the HUB of the shipment delivery area, each shipment is segregated and shipped to its said destination.
